The Holy Alliance seeks to develop partnerships between priests and CMA physician members.
Medical professionals need courageous shepherds to challenge them to uphold the teachings of the Catholic faith in the science and practice of medicine. Similarly, our priests need to be updated on the science behind the major medical moral issues that confront the faithful. Physicians can provide medical information to priests, enabling them to speak to their flocks with greater confidence about complex contemporary issues. These issues include:
- Advanced Directives/POLST
- Catholic Living Wills
- Emergency Contraceptives/Morning After Pill
- Napro Technology/Infertility
- Neuroscience of Pornography
Local CMA guilds are active in over 80 dioceses throughout the country, providing a platform from which the Holy Alliance can rapidly spread. The Holy Alliance gives witness to the fact that the truths of science and the truths of the Faith are never in conflict as they both have one and the same Source.
All priests and physician members of the Catholic Medical Association are welcome to be part of the Holy Alliance to serve Jesus Christ, the Divine Physician. As a fruit of this Alliance, CMA has developed a collection of articles and medical information about contemporary issues, such as RU-486 reversal, advance directives/POLST, Natural Family Planning (NFP) and more. These resources have been compiled in the Holy Alliance Binder, which received an Imprimatur from the Archbishop of Philadelphia, Most Reverend Nelson J. Perez, D.D. Please click here to review and/or download the Binder.
Included in the Binder is a PowerPoint presentation entitled, “Living with Your Fertility Through Natural Family Planning.” To download this presentation, which is separate from the Binder, please follow this link.
