Catholic Medical Association Congratulates Father Peter Muhich for Being Named Bishop of Rapid City, SD

Philadelphia, PA- May 14, 2020—Congratulations to CMA’s Father Peter Muhich, who was named Bishop of Rapid City, SD, by Pope Francis.

“We are blessed to have spiritual leaders like Bishop-Elect Muhich serve and guide our members. We are proud of his accomplishments and the countless ways we know he will continue to propel CMA’s vision to inspire our members to imitate Jesus Christ,” said Dr. Michael S. Parker, CMA President.

Bishop-Elect Muhich currently serves as Guild Chaplain for CMA’s Rapid City Guild. He was ordained in 1989 and has served the Duluth Diocese.

“I am excited to begin this new chapter in my life as priest…I mean bishop. God is full of surprises and I am confident He has many graces in store for us,” said Bishop-Elect Muhich.

“It is with great joy and excitement that we welcome Father Muhich as our new Bishop. The Sacred Heart of Jesus Guild of the Diocese of Rapid City’s vision is to imitate the life of Jesus as we build a city of God amongst all people. We boldly act as ambassadors for Christ, the Divine Physician, with prayer as the best medicine. We lead with “Love” to live fully alive in mind, body and spirit,” said Dr. George Ceremuga, Guild President.

CMA looks forward to Father Muhich’s episcopal ordination and installation, as well as his continued leadership in The Church and Catholic Medical Association.
